2023 Registration

If you have previously registered a child online with New Hartford Youth Baseball‚ please log in to complete your registration. This will reduce the amount of information you will need to enter to complete the registration process.

Ages and Divisions:

  • Little League Baseball and Softball changed the age cutoff starting in 2016 for Minors, Majors, Junior Softball and Intermediate Softball. If you have questions on the appropriate division for your child, please see the Baseball and Softball Age Charts on the "Documents" page of this website (toward the bottom of the menu on the left).
  • Register your child for their age (baseball) or grade (softball) specific division.
  • Certain ages/grades may be eligible to try out to play up in a division of the age/grade 1 year older. You can select if you wish to have your child try out to play in the older division as part of the registration for their age/grade-appropriate division.
  • Factors impacting a player's ability to move up include the competitiveness of the player in their age-appropriate and age older division as well as the number of players per team in both divisions.
  • The board will have sole discretion if a player will be allowed to move to an older division.

Legal Bats:

  • The USA Bat Standard (details below) will now apply to Farm in addition to Minors, Majors, and Juniors.
  • The new Bat Standard started in 2018: Our league decided to adopt the new USABat standard in 2018 for Majors, Minors, and Junior baseball.  This change does not impact softball or Tee Ball.  The move to the new USA Bat standard is consistent with the change being made by Little League and most other baseball organizations throughout the country.  All bats used in baseball league play must have the official USA Baseball logo or be a solid one-piece wood bat. Umpires will be instructed to check that the bats being used meet the new requirement.
  • Spring Try-Out Rules
  • All children desiring to move up to "Majors" or "Minors" Divisions must attend try-outs.
  • After the "Majors" draft, players not chosen or not previously on a "Minors team will be reassigned to‚ the "Minors" division draft.
  • Those children unable to attend try-outs for reasons of illness or previous commitments must notify the‚ league prior to try-outs. Failure to attend try-outs hurts the child's chances of being selected to an appropriate team.
  • Children moving into town after tryouts have been held will be allowed a separate try-out.
  • Alternates for majors and minors teams will be selected from the children trying out for an older division.
